Pioneer BDR-205 is the world’s first 12x Blu-ray writer for desktop computers. The device features 12x write speeds for Blu-ray Disc media, 16x for DVD, 40x for CD media, a 4MB cache memory and a SATA connection interface. NEC LaVie Light Netbooks

NEC released their new Netbooks, the LaVie Light BL300 and BL100. The BL100 is powered by an Intel Atom N270 CPU and a 16GB SSD, while the BL300 features an Intel Atom N280 CPU and option of 160GB HDD or a 16GB SSD. Both Netbooks have WiFi, and a 10.1″ LCD with LED backlight. At this time no price information. via

A Mac Version of uTorrent

µTorrent has released a Mac version in beta. This is good news for torrent and Mac user. The lightweight µTorrent client for Windows was first publicly released in September 2005, and was acquired by Bit Torrent in 2006, which continued development on the application and promised to release a Mac version. Just for your information, the Mac release only runs on Leopard/Intel Macs at the moment and may still contain serious bugs. As the Alternatives for Torrent Client you can use Vuze (formerly Azureus) and Transmission.

Kohjinsha UMPC With Intel Atom CPU

New UMPCs with Intel Atom CPU launched by Kohjinsha. The First is The Kohjinsha SC3. It has features a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 60GB of HDD, a 7 inch wide touchscreen LCD with LED backlight, an internal GPS (optional), WiFi b/g, Bluetooth, and 1.3MP webcam. The other is the Kohjinsha SX3 UMPC. It has features with the The Kohjinsha SC3, but with a larger screen size of 8.9 Inch, and a DVD Super Multi Drive. Both UMPCs will be released in December 2008. HP TouchSmart TX2 a Great Multi Touch Screen Laptop

The TouchSmart TX2 is unique as it has a specially-designed hinge so a user can convert it into three modes: PC, display, and tablet. It even has a rechargeable digital ink pen that allows the user to draw on the screen. If you want to use the pen to write, it will automatically turn the handwriting into typed text.

The TouchSmart TX2 has HDTV in spades. The software allows the user to watch Internet TV or movies in high-definition, and it is programmed for multi-touch input while making it simple to search digital content. It looks like there are plans to offer channels to HP users that include MTV, COMEDY CENTRAL, Nickelodeon, and many others.

Other features of the TouchSmart TX2 include a 12-inch screen (1200 x 800 resolution), a dual-layer DVD burner, a trio of USB ports, and a multi-card reader. As for memory, it has a 250GB, 5400-rpm hard drive. It has a 2.2 GHz AMD Turion X2 ZM-82 processor. The TouchSmart TX2 weighs in at a very light 4.5 pounds, and costs at about $1150. It should be available for pre-order now, and should ship by the end of November.
